ABOUT US

In 2010 a community dance project was born. Shelbi wanted to bring something back to her community that wasn’t already there. With a passion for dance, and noticing the high cost of dance classes at local studios, she created the Majestics Dance Team. At that time it was located in Belgrade. The first year of the program Shelbi taught over 57 kids from the Belgrade Middle School and Intermediate School. Performing at local venues and a few parades Majestics was kicking off its first year right.

Shelbi learned a lot that year, and decided to expand her gift to the community. In 2012 she offered more classes and more performance opportunities. By special request she decided to enter the competition realm. Sticking with middle school kids she built a team of 20 girls and in six months they were off to their first competition in Billings. That first year the Majestics dance team left competition with a 3rd place award at a regional competition qualifying them for Nationals.

In 2013 Shelbi moved to Helena to finish her degree. She didn’t want to quit teaching though, and after three years of practicing in basements, lunch rooms and library rooms she ached for a real studio. Before contacting local studios she refigured her company. She wanted to expand even more, and then FancyFeet Productions was born. She partnered with the YMCA in Helena and began teaching toddler and elementary age kids for shorter class times. Every eight weeks she had the challenge of putting on a recital for a couple hundred people.

2014 Shelbi had moved back to her hometown of Three Forks. She brought FancyFeet productions with her. A new community means new people and new learning opportunities. She quickly learned what the community needed and what it didn’t. They worked hard for 9 months and with some bumps in the road made it to the SpotLight Dance Cup in Billings.

Her teams did FANTASTIC! All three teams walked away with awards and qualifications for Nationals. Her solo piece received an invitation to New York City, and a chance to perform and practice with legends like Radio city’s Rockettes!

Today Fancyfeet productions is bigger and better then ever. We offer classes from mommy and me infant to senior tap! We are all new this year including our name. I proudly announce that we are FancyFeet Community Dance Project! And we look forward to getting to know you this year!
